President Museveni to Address the Nation on Security Matters amidst Terror Threats

President Museveni will address the country on Thursday, September 7, 2023, on matters relating to security and other issues of National importance.

This was confirmed in a press statement released on Wednesday September 6, 2023, by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU).

“The President of the Republic of Uganda, His Excellency Gen. (Rtd). Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will, at 8:00pm tomorrow, Thursday, September 7, 2023, address the Nation on Security Matters and other issues of National Importance. The address will be aired live on all TV and radio stations,” part of the statement read.

The address comes at a time when the country is faced with terror threats. In the last few days, the police have recovered six explosives that had been planted in different places, for instance, on Saturday, September 2, 2023, three explosives were safely detonated by the Bomb squad and the other that was detonated at Rubaga Miracle Centre Cathedral on Sunday. Some of the suspected bombers have been arrested by security.
