According to Nourelhuda, the facility is an integral part of the mosque, which was originally constructed by the same organization in 1995. It serves as a location where Muslims perform the ritual washing of the deceased before burial.

“I call upon the Muslim community and people around to take good care of the facility,” Nourelhuda said.

The Commissioner of Police, Hajji Karungi Sulaiman who received the facility on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) expressed gratitude for the gesture made by Direct Aid.

“This will aid in preparing our souls and being ready at all times, because death is inevitable and every individual will eventually experience it. So this facility will help on preparations in such circumstances,” Hajji Karungi said.

What is a Ghusl?

Ghusl is the term for the “major ablution” in Islam, which is when the complete body is washed with ritually pure water and is necessary for both the living and the dead. Every time a major ritual impurity has been attained, such as after sexual activity, seminal emission, menstruation, or childbirth, the ghusl, together with a statement of intent, must be done.
