A Baby Coach bus, registration number UBH 869N, was involved in a serious accident on the Kampala-Pader highway today, July 10, 2025, leaving 17 passengers injured.
The bus, which was carrying 72 passengers, crashed into a stationary trailer before veering off the road and coming to a stop in Nakasongola District.
The accident occurred along a busy stretch of the Kampala-Pader highway, known for heavy traffic and frequent road incidents.
According to Irene Nakasita, head of publicity at the Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS), the bus was traveling at high speed when the driver reportedly lost control.
The force of the collision shattered windows and caused extensive damage to the bus’s structure.
“The seventeen injured passengers are currently admitted at Nakasongola hospital receiving treatment. We are hoping for a quick recovery,” Nakasita confirmed.
Responding promptly to the scene, Uganda Red Cross personnel worked alongside local residents and passing motorists to evacuate the victims from the wreckage.
Investigations have been launched to determine whether mechanical failure may have contributed to the accident
