National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, has promised the people of West Nile that to lead as a servant president if elected, promising a government that prioritizes the people over family interests.
While addressing a rally at Kyambogo University Teachers College branch in Paidha Town Council on 18th November, 2025, Kyagulanyi emphasized the need for leadership that cares and serves citizens rather than ruling as a dictator.
“For the first time, the citizens of Uganda will choose a servant leader, not a boss. The government will not be a family business with a wife, son, or brother controlling everything. It will be a government for the people,” Kyagulanyi said.
He warned that the current regime is seeking reforms that could disenfranchise voters, framing the upcoming election as a critical opportunity for Ugandans to reclaim their power.
“Many of you have never seen any other president. We want to open your eyes and show that every ten years, you can have a new president,” he added.
Asega Habib, the NUP coordinator for West Nile, highlighted the region’s need for transformation.
“The people of West Nile and Paidha deserve better services. This region used to thrive on cash crops like tea and tobacco, but now that prosperity is gone. Zombo alone has less than a kilometre of tarmac, and we must change that,” he said.
Kyagulanyi’s campaign has been active across West Nile, visiting Packwach and Madi Okolo on Monday. He is set to campaign in Zombo and Nebbi before proceeding to Arua, Maracha, Terego, Koboko, Yumbe, and concluding in Obongi and Moyo districts.
