The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kapelebyong District, Tom Olinga Otukol, has warned the district agricultural extension workers against mismanaging government motorcycles.
He said this while officiating the handover of two UGBOS Pro motorcycles (UG3855A and UG3856A) under the National Oil Seeds Project to the agricultural extension officers recently.
“Use these motorcycles for the intended purpose. We want to see value for money. Don’t use them for posing at bars because you can easily land in trouble,” Otukol said.
John William Ejiet, the acting production officer, expressed that these motorcycles are meant for mobilizing and training farmers on the Oil Seeds project.
According to Ejiet, the motorcycles will ease the work of extension workers in executing tasks for the benefit of communities.
Francis Akorikin, the District Chairperson of Kapelebyong, thanked the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries for the support.
The seven-year National Oil Seeds Project is funded with credit from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and other partners. Its focus is to commercialize value chains of key oil seeds in 81 districts of Uganda.
