Kabale to Host International Youth Day

Kabale district is set to host the International Youth Day celebrations at Kigezi Primary School Lower Grounds under the theme “Accelerating Recovery from Covid-19 and Full Implementation of Agenda 2030,” where President Museveni is expected to preside over the function as the Chief Guest.

The State Minister for Youth at the Ministry of Gender Labour and Social Development, Sarah Mateke has confirmed that this year’s Youth Day celebrations will be held in Kabale district on Friday, August 18, 2023.

While addressing the media at the Uganda Media Centre, Mateke noted that the day that is celebrated worldwide on August 12 was postponed to August 18, 2023, due to different conflicting schedules.

“This day presents an opportunity to recognize the importance and the vital role of our youth in shaping our nation’s present and future, and the essential role the youth play in driving positive change and development globally,” Mateke said.

Mateke further confirmed that the guest of honor will be President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
