Police in Kayabwe town council in Mpigi district has arrested Wated Raed, a 50 year old Israelite for murdering his officially wedded Ugandan wife, Monica Nabukenya and dumping her body in a septic tank.

According to local authorities, on July 17, 2023, Nabukenya was found dead in a septic tank behind her residence at Kalagala Kikutuzi cell in Kayabwe ward, Kayabwe town council and it was immediately retrieved by the fire brigade team that took the body to Gombe Hospital for Postmortem.

The authorities added that, earlier on July 15, 2023, Raed had reported the disappearance of his wife at Kayabwe Police Station claiming that his wife had withdrawn unspecified amount of money from his bank account without his knowledge.

Preliminary information indicates that, on Monday, July 17, 2023, Raed confessed before the CID at Kayabwe Police station that he had killed his wife because she was engaged with multiple partners.

The local authority further revealed that, Raed got furious after testing his kid for DNA and found out that the kid was not his hence the anger which led to the murder.

The local authorities also informed our reporter that the deceased, (Nabukenya) had threatened to abort a three months old pregnancy and Raed was not comfortable with it thus escalating the already ongoing family misunderstandings.

The local authorities further confirmed that, at the time of committing the offence, Raed was working with Reinhold Construction Company located in Kwaba cell, Nabusanke ward in Kayabwe town council and had recently applied for dual citizenship but had been rejected because of lack of proper documents.

Nabukenya was born in Katoma village, Kyanjovu parish in Lwengo district.
