As preparations get to the final stages, Ishaka Adventist Hospital is set to host its third consecutive annual medical camps, aiming to extend healthcare services to less privileged communities in the region.
Scheduled from June 30th to July 2nd, the camps will be held at strategic locations including the hospital grounds, Ruhumuro HCIII in Bushenyi, and Kanyabwanga HCIII in Mitooma.
“This initiative shows our commitment to community welfare and our gratitude for the support of the local populace,” stated Zadock Amanyisa, Communications and Public Relations Officer of Ishaka Adventist Hospital.
“By partnering with international collaborators from the USA and local leaders, we aim to give back by enhancing access to essential medical services,” he added.
The medical camps will offer a spectrum of healthcare provisions, including eye examinations, dental care, and cervical cancer screenings. These services are crucial in addressing prevalent health issues and promoting early detection and treatment.
The initiative has garnered support from key figures such as the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, and Hon. Annet Katusiime Mugisha, Woman MP of Bushenyi. Additionally, Prof. Erling Oksenholt, a prominent medical practitioner from the USA, will be actively participating in the camps, contributing his expertise to benefit local communities.
“We are deeply grateful for the collaboration and support of our partners and community leaders, whose contributions make these camps possible. Together, we are striving to uphold the healing ministry and improve healthcare accessibility for all,” expressed Mr. Amanyisa.
The medical camps not only aim to provide immediate healthcare services but also foster community engagement and empowerment through health education and awareness programs. Participants will receive guidance on preventive measures and lifestyle choices to promote long-term health and well-being.
Reflecting on the upcoming event, Mr. Amanyisa remarked, “We thank God for enabling us to deliver on the healing ministry and for the opportunity to positively impact the lives of our community members.”
