Headteacher, One Other Die in Awful Accident along Kafu Road

The headteacher of Awara College, Etori, and one other person have been confirmed dead after a motor vehicle in which they were travelling got involved in a fatal motor accident along the Gulu Kampala highway.

The deceased have been identified as Lilian Letaru, the head teacher of Awara College Etori in Anyiribu sub-county, Madi-Okollo district, and her niece Peace Amaguru, a staff member of WENRECO.

According to the police report, the incident happened a few kilometres from Kafu-Masindi junction on Friday morning, February 16, 2024, when a fuso truck registration number UAS 268W travelling to Kampala rammed into the stationed truck.

The bodies have been conveyed to Kiryandongo Hospital for a postmortem.

In a recent traffic accident report, a total of 432 accidents were recorded, with 97 being fatal, 202 being serious, and 133 being minor. Among the 424 victims, 100 lost their lives, while 324 sustained injuries.
