Lately, there has been a lot of publicity and media attention about DNA in Uganda. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is a molecule that contains the biological instructions that make each species unique.
DNA along with the instructions it contains, is passed from adult organisms to their offspring during reproduction. It has three distinct functions—genetics, immunological, and structural.
In Uganda, the media has been engaged with news of men carrying out DNA tests for their children, with many of them turning out not to be fathers of the children they have looked after and paid school fees for many years.
This comes shortly after the Parliament of Uganda passed the Anti-Homosexuality bill that was later assented to by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, all in the name of protecting the family unit.
The passing of the bill and the subsequent assent by the President did not please the human rights preachers, Western world and the LGBTQ activists, leading to Aid cut threats, sanction threats and all other intimidating statements.
In his speech, President Joe Biden of the United States of America said “The enactment of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act is a tragic violation of universal human rights.”
Secretary Antony Blinken tweeted on his handle @SecBlinken, on May 30, 2023, “Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Act (AHA) threatens the lives of its people as well as the country’s prosperity. The United States urges the immediate repeal of the AHA to protect the human rights of all Ugandans.”
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa while Chairing a Parliamentary session on July 4, 2023, asked the government to regulate the mushrooming DNA paternity laboratories in the country and initiate counseling services for men who have fallen victim.
He asked Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja to guide the nation on how DNA should be conducted without breaking families and ruining the lives of innocent children.
Well, knowing the tricks used by the Western world to push their interests, the Government of Uganda and the African continent at large should not rule out the possibility of some elements that are aiming at telling the whole human race and the young generation how bad women are and therefore, should embrace homosexuality as a substitute.
The countries that promote Homosexuality absolutely know that children are vulnerable to such ploys.
In order to save family units and God’s creation, the Government of Uganda therefore, needs not to take the matter lightly, but should counter these negative tendencies that may be aimed at destroying the family unit and promoting the unpopular gay business on the continent.
Relatedly, the DNA media hype that has seen many Ugandans run to conduct the tests will see many test centers come up. This will create market for the DNA test equipment, (of course none of the equipment is manufactured here in Uganda) so it will be same manufacturing countries to benefit business wise.
The government should also take an extra mile to investigate the results since it can be possible that most of them may be fabricated to spread the western propaganda,
The government can also designate competent laboratories to perform the same. Personal test kits could be banned because they are not robust enough to be consistent.
