The President directed veteran leaders to account for UGX 231 billion disbursed over the years under a 2009 arrangement that provided financial support to liberation war leaders, their spouses, and support cadres.

Uganda has intensified efforts to contain Ebola, with President Museveni assuring the World Health Organization (WHO) that the country remains vigilant and prepared to stop the outbreak.

A total of 79 ministers took the oath of office before President Museveni at State House Entebbe as Uganda’s new Cabinet officially assumed office. Four appointees missed the ceremony due to citizenship concerns, while Janet Museveni was absent.

Under the new system, successfully registered foreign nationals will be issued Alien Identification Numbers (AINs) and Alien Identification Cards, which will serve as official identification documents for foreign residents in Uganda. The validity period of each card will correspond with the duration of the holder’s immigration permit or authorized stay.
