The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, the Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, is set to host the provincial prayer convention slated to start Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at the Uganda Martyrs Anglican site in Namugongo.
During a press conference at the Provincial Secretariat at Namirembe Cathedral, his grace invited all Ugandans to attend the four-day prayer convention as they pray for themselves and their country, Uganda.
“This prayer convention is not for Anglicans only, but for all Ugandans who would love to see God do something in their lives,” Kazimba said.
“Our theme for the convention is taken from the book of John 6:68–69, To Whom shall we go?”, Kazimba added.
Reverend Simon Peter Ddembe-lya Yesu, the director of missions and outreach, said that all is set and people have already started arriving at the venue.
“The medical team is set, we have ambulances ready in case of any medical emergency, and security is guaranteed following engagements with the Ministry of Security, who have fully deployed,” Ddembe said.
“Attending the prayer convention is free of charge for all those willing to attend, and for those not able to make it, tune in to your local radios and TV channels and other social media platforms,” Ddembe added.
The convention is expected to attract thousands of participants from various dioceses in Uganda as well as international visitors seeking to engage in transformative spiritual experiences. The conference program will include issues related to faith, prayers, personal growth, and the role of Christianity in the contemporary world.
It will run from November 22–25, 2023, with the chief convener and host being his Grace, Archbishop Stephen Kazimba.
