The Uganda Prison Service Sprinter Haron Adoli has advanced significantly in his quest to qualify for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
He is also preparing for the 23rd edition of the African Senior Championships 2024, which will take place in Douala, Cameroon, from June 21 to June 26.
Adoli participated in the international competition held in Guadalajara, Madrid, Spain, and achieved an astounding third place with a time of 45.67 seconds.
Adoli trailed closely behind Hamza Diar of Morocco, who claimed first place with a time of 45.54 seconds, and Yoandys Lescay of Cuba, who secured second place with a time of 45.60 seconds.
Remarkably, the race included seasoned competitors who had previously participated in world-class competitions such as the Olympics, Diamond Leagues, the Imperial Auxiliary Armed Forces (IAAF), and the World Athletics Championships. One such competitor was Antonio Jose Zambrano, a former Olympic silver medalist.
Adoli’s accomplishment raises his prospects of qualifying for the 2024 Olympics in Paris and shows that he has what it takes to succeed in the forthcoming African Senior Championships.
