This day is always celebrated to spread awareness about the importance of tourism and its general impact on our society.

Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Martin Bahinduka Mugarra through his twitter account informed the country that ahead of World Tourism Day 2023, there will be a media Launch on Friday, August 25, at the Tourism Information Centre, Sheraton Hotel from 10am.

“Following last year’s celebration themed, ‘Rethinking Tourism’ which among others highlighted the impact of Tourism on the planet and opportunities to grow more sustainably, this year’s World Tourism Day will be celebrated under the theme, ‘Tourism and Green Investments’.” he said.

World Tourism Day 2023 will be a call to action to the International Community, governments, multilateral financial institutions, development partners and private sector investors to unite around a new tourism investment strategy.
