The indomitable Uganda Cranes is working out to find all possible ways to humble Algeria in the forthcoming match scheduled for June 18, 2023, in Cameroon where Uganda will be hosting Algeria.
“We are finding ways to keep the Algerians tight at the back such that they don’t proceed. We are set to punish them,” Micho said on Thursday.
He explained that their early entrance in Cameroon was a move to get familiar with the weather and master corners of Japoma Stadium in Douala Cameroon.
“The driving factor is that we are now used to external factors like weather and environment because of the constant training we have had at Japoma Stadium in Douala,” he said.
Micho revealed that he is not bothered with the pressure in the team because it is to fuel to both the players and himself, and competing with Algeria is a challenge which brings the best out of the players and the coach.
“And the real best version of Uganda Cranes you will see on Sunday is upon me though it come with pressure. But pressure is fuel for coaches and players, so this is all fuel for me,” he said.
The Uganda Cranes head coach Micho stated that he is so much fuelled and cannot wait to watch Uganda Cranes triumphing over Algeria.
“Our first intention is to defeat and humble Algeria however, in football I don’t want to think beyond Sunday,” he said.
This comes after Uganda Cranes on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, played a friendly match with Democratic Republic of Congo in preparation for the main match against Algeria.
Responding to the DRC’s win over Uganda Cranes in the friendly match on Wednesday, Micho said that, a friendly match is never a basis for judging the final performance of teams because it just helps the technical team to try test and experiment so many aspects but the story will change on Sunday.
According to the organisers, Democratic Republic of Congo is set to battle with Gabon on the same day and stadium where Uganda is set to play against Algeria.
