Veteran Nollywood Nigerian actress, Patience Ozokwor commonly known as ‘Mama G’ will be coming to Uganda where she will grace the iKON Awards.
While appearing in a video on X , a happy Mama G was excited to be coming to Kampala once again where she is assured of a huge fan base and is loved because of her numerous characters in several Nigerian movies.
“Hello Ugandans, Mama G lovers. I am going to be with you in Kampala for the Icon Awards on the 29th of March ,2025,” Ozokwor said.
“It’s been long since I came to Uganda but this time around , I’m coming again to see you and hug you. Be there for me. I’m coming , running and flying to share the joy with you, don’t forget , G for General,” she added .
The 66-year old actress has become a household name in the Nigerian film industry, Nollywood with a career spanning over two decades, Ozokwor has appeared in over 300 films, showcasing her versatility and talent .
She has been particularly famous for playing strong, complex characters, often portraying the role of a wicked mother or mother-in-law.
Throughout her illustrious career, she has received numerous awards and recognition, including the Best Supporting Actress award at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2012 and 2013. She was also honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) in 2023 .
Apart from her acting career, she is also a singer, fashion designer, and philanthropist . She is an ordained evangelist and has been involved in various charitable activities.Her visit symbolizes a bridge between Nollywood and Uganda’s evolving film scene, highlighting the power of African storytelling.
She has acted in movies like Chief Daddy, Submission, August Meeting , Annabel, Mama G In America, Upside Down, The Cross of Love 2, War Front, Wicked Mother, Deceiver, She Must Be Obeyed, Billionaires Club, Turning Point, New Jerusalem, Marriage War, The Scuffle, A Ghetto Love Story and many others.
