The USA President, Joe Biden, has tested positive for COVID-19; however, he is experiencing mild symptoms. Biden’s sickness was confirmed by the White House in a press statement on Wednesday evening, July 17, 2024.

According to Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, the president was vaccinated and boosted before but has in the past tested positive for COVID-19 twice.

Jean-Pierre said that President Biden was on Wednesday morning, July 17, 2024, visiting supporters in Las Vegas and speaking at the event. He, however, canceled the campaign speech later in the night.

“Biden will be returning to Delaware, where he will self-isolate and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time,” Jean-Pierre said.

Biden’s physician stated that the president is experiencing a runny nose and a non-productive cough, with his symptoms remaining mild.

“The President has received his first dose of Paxlovid and will be self-isolating at his home in Rehoboth,” he noted.
