URA FC has officially confirmed the departure of Head Coach Alex Isabirye, ending his tenure at the club after mutual agreement among top leadership.
In a statement released on November 25th, the club noted that the move also sees the exit of Assistant Coaches Richard Kasule, Crespo Asiku, and Goalkeeping Coach Damba Jamil.
According to URA FC, the decision marks the close of Isabirye’s one-and-a-half-year spell, having joined the Tax Collectors in May 2023. During his 36-match run, he guided the team to 17 wins, 9 draws, and 10 losses.
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to Coach Isabirye and his departing staff for their commitment and service to the club, and wish them success in their future endeavours,” the team said.
This season, URA FC has collected eight points from seven games in the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League and stands 11th on the table, a run that has put pressure on the technical bench.
As the search for a new permanent coach gets underway, the club confirmed that Edward Golola will take charge for now.
“In the interim, Edward Golola will assume the Head Coach role and lead the team into our Match Day 8 fixture against Buhimba Saints on Wednesday, 26th November at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo,” the statement read.
URA FC added that details regarding a new permanent Head Coach and technical team will be communicated “in due course.”
Isabirye leaves with a remarkable coaching portfolio, having previously won the Uganda Premier League title with URA (2010–2011) and later with Vipers SC (2022–2023). He also lifted the Stanbic Uganda Cup with URA in 2012 and again with BUL FC in 2022.
