The Uganda Premier League (UPL) leaders including Chairpersons, Presidents, and Chief Executive Officers are demanding the reactivation of their promise to take them to Morocco for bench marking.

The said promise was made by FUFA last year to sharpen Ugandan club leaders through observation of new footballing techniques from one of the best-ranked tournaments in the African continent.

“We need to go and learn from the best if we want to build this brand to the levels we desire,” Arinaitwe Rugyendo, FSLL Chairman said.

While speaking to over 13 cloud presidents last week, FUFA’s third Vice President, Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, who represents the clubs, promised that, she would push FUFA to fulfill the promise within six months.

“It was promised, and we acknowledge the need for an international exposure for the chairpersons of the club to a country at the status of Morocco,” Kiyingi said.

According to Kiyingi, it should not exceed the next six months so that they can be exposed to such a resourceful league in one of the best countries like Morocco.

She added that, the leaders will be able to observe and relate to Ugandan football and be able to revamp the sports sector.

According to CAF, the Moroccan Botola 1 league is ranked the best on the African continent because it has nurtured many strikers who have qualified for the FIFA World Cup more than once.
