The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has cautioned head teachers, school directors, and the public against fraudsters claiming to have access to UNEB’s grading system.

This call was revealed by the Executive Director of UNEB, Dan N. Odongo, in a press statement by UNEB on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

According to Dan N. Odongo, the Executive Director of UNEB, the impostors are allegedly coning money from schools to help them improve the grades of their candidates or remove their schools from the list of those suspected of examination malpractice.

“It has come to the attention of the board that there are some impostors coning head teachers and school directors of money, allegedly to either help them improve the grades of their candidates or remove their schools from the list of those suspected of examination malpractice,” Odongo stated.

UNEB registered 749,347 pupils who sat for Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), including 391,558 females and 357,789 males, and the results will be released on January 25, 2024.

Earlier this month, Parliament hailed UNEB for curbing examination malpractice and requested the Finance Ministry to fund the Board’s underfunded priorities.
