The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has issued a final call for all heads of examination centres at both primary and secondary school levels to complete the registration of candidates for the 2025 national examinations by midnight on Sunday, June 15.

This deadline marks the close of normal registration for students sitting for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).

Jennifer Kalule Musamba, the Principal Public Relations Officer at UNEB, confirmed that the registration fees remain unchanged from the previous year.

PLE candidates are required to pay Shs34,000, UCE candidates Shs164,000, and UACE candidates Shs186,000.

Musamba cautioned that candidates who fail to meet the deadline will only be accommodated during the late registration phase, which will incur additional surcharges.

“Heads of government-aided school centres have been particularly urged to ensure full registration within the normal window, as the government will not cover any costs associated with late registration,” She said.

The latest report shows that a total of 1,372,015 candidates have registered for the 2025 examinations. This includes 809,384 candidates for PLE, 404,682 for UCE, and 157,949 for UACE.

Musamba also addressed technical difficulties reported by some UCE centres with the Access Management Information System (AMIS), advising schools to download and install the latest software patch available on the UNEB portal.

She further reminded schools to meticulously verify candidate biodata before final submission by ensuring the correct spelling of names, accurate dates of birth in UNEB format, gender, institutional choices, and properly attached photographs are essential for a smooth registration process.

For further assistance, UNEB has encouraged schools to contact their call centre or visit the UNEB offices for support.
