The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has revealed a total of 25 cases pertaining to the examination malpractices including those at the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Primary Living Examinations (PLE).
Jennifer Kalule, the Principle Relations Officer of UNEB in a press release of Monday, November 20, 2023, said that, the UCE examinations were successfully completed last week without any major challenges apart from a few malpractices that were detected.
“There were a few forms of malpractices like impersonation, external assistance to candidates, destroying of examination materials mainly security envelopes carrying examination papers, as well as unauthorized possession and electronic sharing of content or information purported to be UNEB examinations,” she said.
She added that the cases of malpractices were detected and the culprits are facing the law.
“Some of these cases were reported to police and the suspects will appear in court to answer different charges while others will be handled by the Boards examination security committee,” she added.
Ten cases were registered in the UCE examinations while 15 cases were registered in PLE examinations
