The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially released the 2023 examination timetables for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
While addressing journalist at Uganda Media Center in Kampala on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, Daniel Odongo, the Board’s Executive Director said that, this year’s national examinations will commence on Friday October 13, 2023, with briefing of UCE candidates.
He added that, the first paper will be Geography on October 16th and the UCE examinations will run until November 17, 2023.
Odongo said that, the second series of examinations is PLE slated for November 7-9 2023, and the final examinations will be conducted from November 10th to December 1, 2023.
“The second series of examinations is the PLE which will be conducted from November 7-9, 2023, starting with briefing of the candidates. The 3rd and final of the examinations is UACE, which will be conducted from November 10th to December 1, 2023,” Odongo said.
He noted that, out of a total of one million two hundred twenty-four thousand, three hundred seventy-one (1,224,371) learners registered for all the three levels of the final examinations from 20,921 centers.
Odongo also revealed that, there is an increase of 12,690 (13.5%) at UACE level and 14,988 (4.3%) at UCE level.
However, Odongo said that, there was a drop of 83,438 (10%) in the candidature at PLE level, from 832,809 last year to 749,371 this year.
He urged Heads of Centers to ensure that candidates receive a copy of the time table.
UNEB has asked candidates and all the concerned to take special note of the sections on directions to candidates, and cautioned them against malpractice in or around the examination room.
