The Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) has tasked all schools across the country with publishing a list of all the registered candidates for this year’s national examinations.
Jennifer Kalule, the UNEB spokesperson, said the display starts Monday, August 14, 2023, and all schools with examination sitting centres for 2023 at all levels of education are expected to display candidates’ registers.
“The exercise will help UNEB to know cases of irregularities in the candidates’ bio-data; candidates are supposed to inform the school authorities, who should also alert UNEB through the provided procedures on the UNEB entrance,” Kalule explained.
She also urges parents and candidates to make use of this exercise to confirm both the registration status and the correctness of the biodata submitted.
Kalule further stated that if a candidate was not registered for some reason but has proof of having paid registration fees on time and the heads of schools have not registered, UNEB should be notified promptly.
The Board will launch a Short Message Service (SMS) at all UNEB centres countrywide for candidates to confirm their registration status, where they will insert their index numbers.
