Residents in Kabundi village, Matete sub-county in Sembabule district, have found a woman dead and naked in a eucalyptus forest.

The deceased has been identified as Teddy Nalweyiso, aka Mama Daada, a 30-year-old resident of Kabundi village in Matete sub-county.

According to the locals, the deceased was a singer and a traditional healer in Kabundi village who was last seen on May 31, 2024, at David Lutalo’s concert in Kabundi.

’’Most of us last saw her performing at Lutalo’s concert two days ago; however, as soon as we noticed her disappearance, we started searching for her,’’ the locals said.

During an interview on June 3, 2024, one of the residents, identified as Aloysius Ssali, said that Nalweyiso was last seen singing on stage at Lutalo’s concert in Kabundi on May 31, 2024, at 10:00 p.m. However, after her performance on stage, she left on a boda boda, which had two people on it, and they headed to Sembabule.

Ssali added that when the locals noticed that Nalweyiso was missing, a search was launched; however, she was found, naked and dead, in a eucalyptus forest in Kabuyola.

’’We found the deceased’s body naked with scratch marks all over her body, but where she was found, you could tell there was a struggle, so it seems she first fought with the killers before she was murdered,’’ Ssali revealed.

Ssali added that recently, the residents of Mawogola and Mateete areas had requested for more security, including police patrols and a police post, because there are too many cases of mob justice, armed robberies, burglaries, and murdering of people, which mainly happen in Bukanasa valley, Kabundi town, and Kiwumulo zone in Mateete town.
