Uganda U18 Boys Team Qualifies for CECAFA U18 Finals after 1-0 Win over Rwanda

The Uganda U18Boys team has qualified for finals of the 2023 Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) U18 Boys championship after beating Rwanda 1-0 in Kisumu, Kenya on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

The 1-0 win means that Uganda will meet either the hosts, Kenya or Tanzania who are playing the second semi-final today on Tuesday.

The Ugandan youngsters put in a determined performance to overcome a tough Rwandan side in Kisumu, despite a goalless first half, the introduction of Denis Kisiriko in the second half proved decisive. Just a minute after his arrival, Kisiriko’s presence seemed to spark the team, and Abubaker Muyanja duly converted to send Uganda through to the final.

His substitute must have brought good luck charm because just a minute after his introduction, Uganda found the breakthrough.

Abubaker Muyanja scored the goal and in the end it was enough to send Uganda into the final.

The final will be played on Friday, December 8th, and Uganda will be hoping to add another title to their impressive collection.️
