Uganda will take center stage in the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) Summit 2025, set to run from May 7-9, 2024.
Under the theme, Building Resilient Agri-Food Systems in Africa, the summit promises an essential gathering for exploring innovative solutions to the challenges and opportunities facing Africa’s agriculture sector.
The summit will focus on key issues such as land management, sustainability, and food security, all critical to achieving the transformation of Africa’s agricultural landscape.
The CAADP Summit is a culmination of years of efforts by African leaders and policymakers to address the pressing issues of food insecurity, underinvestment, and low agricultural productivity.
Since its inception in 2003, CAADP has sought to drive agricultural growth across the continent by promoting increased investment in agriculture, fostering resilience, and reducing poverty.

Uganda’s role as the host nation of the 2025 CAADP Summit is a testament to the country’s commitment to the agricultural transformation of the continent.
In a recent meeting with African Union officials, Uganda’s President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host the summit and highlighted Uganda’s rich agricultural heritage.
“We are ready to showcase Africa’s agricultural potential and Uganda’s indigenous farming knowledge, which forms the foundation for modernizing and commercializing our agricultural sector,” said President Museveni.
The summit will not only provide a platform to discuss critical issues but also give Uganda an opportunity to demonstrate its agricultural expertise and its ongoing efforts to modernize its agricultural practices.
