Uganda Leads in Business, Tourism in EAC-Nabbanja

The Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja has said that, Uganda is leading in business, tourism, has the fastest-growing economy, and is the most secure in the East African region, with a GDP of over USD 15Bn.

Nabbanja made the remarks while presiding over the 2nd edition of the annual Uganda-UAE Business Forum at the Commonwealth Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala, on Tuesday, October 10, 2023.

“This is why you should invest in Uganda, because Uganda leads in business, tourism in East Africa and is the fastest growing economy in the East African community with a GDP of over 15billion US Dollars,” Nabbanja said.

She also elaborated that Uganda has the best electricity Tariffs, and there is a one stop centre that simplifies registration of companies for the investors because all the services can easily be accessed in one area.

Mukiza Robert, the Director General Uganda Investment Authority urged Ugandans not to miss out on the opportunity to be part of Uganda’s remarkable growth story as it is the fastest-growing economy in East Africa.

He said that, Uganda’s resilience shines through despite the Covid-19 pandemic, Foreign Direct Investment inflows have consistently risen.

“Join in the success journey fueled by stability, business-friendly policies, and regional prominence,” Mukiza said.

Uganda-UAE Business Forum was under the theme Uganda Gateway of the UAE to the East Africa Community with an objective to facilitate dialogue between governments of Uganda and UAE business community. A delegation from the United Arab Emirates was also in attendance.
