As Uganda gears up to face South Africa on November 15, 2024, at the Namboole National Stadium in Kampala, the atmosphere is filled with anticipation.
Uganda Cranes will host the South African Bafana Bafana in the qualifiers, with both teams fighting to secure an African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification.
Withstanding the Cranes’ top position in Group K with ten points, Uganda is one point deficient in the subsequent two games against South Africa (Bafana Bafana) and Congo (Leopards).
For Uganda to qualify, they must avoid a loss to South Africa, or in case they lose, Congo must not win against South Sudan in the other Group K fixture in Juba.

South Africa, on the other hand, has to win any of their two games against Uganda and South Sudan to seal qualification.
With just a day remaining before the November 15, 2024, matchup against the Bafana Bafana, Uganda’s head coach Paul Put and his coaching team are focusing on sharpening tactics and solidifying teamwork as a way to achieve the only single point needed to qualify and confirm Uganda’s position in the AFCON 2025 slated to take place in Morocco.
The Cranes are close to securing their first AFCON appearance since 2019.
