The Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) is set to release the final report of the National Housing and Population Census with the aim of providing valuable insights into the living conditions of Ugandans, including property ownership and access to essential services.
According to the UBOS spokesperson, Didacus Okoth, the comprehensive report will provide insights into how Ugandans leave, what they own, and where they access essential services, such as healthcare, education, and clean water.
He made these remarks on Monday, September 30, 2024, at the UBOS headquarters, where he stated that the final report and the event will be held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
“The report is a culmination of the census conducted in May 2024, which achieved 99% coverage of the population, with only 1% missed due to various factors, such as absent household members and refusal to participate,“ Okoth noted.

According to Okoth, the main report will give a detailed analysis of the population in the country, and this final report will have rich information for planning and investment decisions that require statistical information. It will give figures for referencing for the next 10 years and for benchmark purposes for other surveys until the next census.
