At around noon, Besigye and accomplice arrived at the General Court Martial in Makindye, Kampala, and appeared before Brig Gen Freeman Mugabe, the Chairman of the General Court Martial, to be read the charges they are being accused of.

Apart from Jimmy Lwanga, NUP's Bukoto South MP Twaha Kagabo also crossed to PLU, a political movement headed by the first son, General Muhoozi Keinerugaba. 

The race constitutes six candidates, including Rose Kabagyeni from the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Salim Sultana representing the National Unity Platform (NUP), and Grace Akifeza Ngabirano as an independent. Aisha Cyimpaye will carry the People's Progressive Party (PPP) flag, while Juliet Musanase is representing the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and Mable Ingabire for the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC).

From Kamuli, Kyagulanyi and team proceeded to Abim in Northern Uganda on November 7, 2024, and are expected to be in Soroti on Friday, November 8, 2024. After eastern Uganda, Kyagulanyi will visit Kisoro district in southwestern Uganda.

The State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, committed to engaging the government to have all the political prisoners released, and last week, 18 of them, including Olivia Lutaaya, pleaded guilty and are yet to serve a light sentence of four months and then after will be released after spending over four years in prison.

The National Unity Platform (NUP) party president, Robert Kyagulanyi, has hailed Ugandan local artists who have continued to stand with Ugandans in the fight against corruption.

On the day of the coronation, Kyagulanyi and his team were seen in the Bugisu subregion, where he met with the Bamasaba cultural leader in Mbale just a few days before the beginning of this year's Mbalu festival, a key event among the Bamasaba people of eastern Uganda. 

The March to Parliament, which is scheduled to take place on July 23, 2024, has no known leader as of now, as it has been classified as a partyless and leaderless campaign where concerned citizens are meant to march to parliament in a demonstration against corruption.
