The sensitization meeting’s objectives included raising awareness, promoting healthy practices, engaging stakeholders, and fostering community support by building a supportive environment for those seeking to quit smoking. 

While commenting on the ongoing World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week, Rogers Kisame from the Children’s Foundation Uganda said that the week will end with the conference at Kampala Serena Hotel, where different officials from the Ministry of Health will dive into how to prevent the transmission of infectious germs, among others.

By combining these strategies, the UPS aims to empower its staff to protect themselves and their communities from the threat of infectious diseases.

According to the World Health Organization, the virus is transmitted via the fecal-oral route and by aerosol droplets (usually children), and there is no cure for polio, but it can only be prevented by immunization.

The Ministry of Health, together with the Uganda National Expanded Programme on Immunization (UNEPI), has flagged off the second phase of their Cold Chain Equipment project at their headquarters in Kampala.

The most efficient services come from specialized institutions whose knowledge and expertise take many decades to learn and achieve. It is unimaginable, for example, to make Mulago Hospital a department in the Ministry of Health or Makerere University a department in the Ministry of Education. The low quality of service delivery in many government departments deserves improvement, not additional work, and throwing away institutions like paper towels is very difficult to understand.

The Ministry of Health, with support from WHO and other partners, is collaborating closely to strengthen outbreak control measures, which range from disease surveillance, clinical care, community engagements, and public awareness.

The Ministry of Finance, Planning, and Economic Development noted that the 2nd quarter release is in line with their continued efforts of fiscal consolidation through coordinated fiscal and monetary policy and also funding the ten-fold growth strategy.
