Kisaka assumed office on July 23, 2020, after being recommended by President Museveni and approved by the Public Service Commission following Jennifer Musisi’s resignation.
The State House Anti-Corruption Unit (SHACU), in conjunction with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP), has arraigned Wycliffe Ntende and Stephen Boogere before the Chief Magistrates Court in Jinja on charges of theft and conspiracy to commit a felony.
The protesters had seven key demands, among them being the resignation of Speaker of Parliament Anita Among, the resignation of the four back bencher commissioners, reducing the number of Members of Parliament (MPs), and reducing the MPs' salaries and allowances to Ugx 3 million, among others.
The ruling NRM and its leaders are fortified in the belief that as long as they can master the numbers to support the party, President Museveni will always pardon them, even in the face of corrupt practices.
