According to Nsambya Hospital, unidentified individuals stormed the facility and assaulted their staff as they demanded information about the deceased. The hospital management, however, condemned what they called the act of violence on their staff.
On May 15, 2024, in Namulanda B Zone, Kajjansi Town Council in Wakiso district, six South Sudanese siblings and two women died in a house fire, and according to preliminary reports, the fire originated from an electronic kettle connected to a socket and was left in the sitting room unattended.
Kidnappings among children are on the rise in the Makindye division. On September 8, 2024, police arrested a woman, only identified as Nalubiri, in a rented home in Katwe parish, after kidnapping a toddler during a Sunday church service in Kisenyi, Kampala. This calls for further investigations to find out the motives of the kidnappers in the area.
