As the number of Mpox cases continues to rise, health officials and community leaders in Makindye are working tirelessly to contain the spread and protect the health of residents.
The sensitization meeting’s objectives included raising awareness, promoting healthy practices, engaging stakeholders, and fostering community support by building a supportive environment for those seeking to quit smoking.
On September 26, 2024, at around 10:00am in Masaka, at Down City Building, Farouk, a porter in the building, persuaded a 3-year-old juvenile named Preson with UGX 500 to go with him to buy a soda without the knowledge of the mother before disappearing.
Following the intervention, the Police Flying Squad unit located Kakande at the Mpata Treading Center, resulting in his arrest and successfully recovering the child unharmed. Kakande is presently in custody at the Mukono Police Station.
