The minister tasked Pramukh Steel Ltd and Victoria Plastics Ltd to construct boreholes for communities to provide drinking water sources for them, replacing the contaminated waters that put the lives of people at risk.
"The boda-boda issue is being handled carefully, and registration of all boda boda cyclists is ongoing. We are going to register a certain number of cyclists per stage, and those without stages will have to vacate Kampala. This will reduce the overcongestion and the high crime rate being committed by these unknown cyclists.”
This is not the first time such an incident is happening in Uganda; in July 2013, over 35 people died and many survived with injuries as they tried to get fuel from a fuel tanker involved in an accident. Many, mainly boda boda raiders, were caught up in the fire and lost their lives.
Uganda police continues to issue a warning to the public to desist from quick money by running to accidents involving trucks carrying products that are inflammable in order to avoid cases of death caused by blasts or fire explosions.
