There is fishing, boat trips, nature walks, and a beach volleyball net waiting for the adventurous. In the evening, bonfires can be lit on the beach as one is watching the lights of the fishermen on the lake.
The crocodiles in question have not only killed humans but also domestic animals, and the crocodile infestation in the area is due to the numerous fish breeding grounds that attract the crocodiles to the shores and prey on humans.
Most boat accidents in Uganda are mainly caused by overloading and strong winds. For example, in March 2024, a boat that had 17 people was traveling from Bussi Island in Wakiso district heading to Nakiwogo landing site when it capsized and six people died.
The crocodiles have invaded the shores and are living near people's houses, which has forced most of them to abandon their homes due to fear of being mauled.
