Police in Ssembabule district have arrested a woman identified as Kiconco, a resident of Katwe village, Katwe sub-county, in connection with the gruesome murder of her husband identified as Reason Ssempijja.

Preliminary reports indicate that Kiconco murdered the husband and dumped the body on the roadside near their home for reportedly marrying a second wife.

Ronald Semwogerere, a resident of the same village, reported that Ssempijja’s body was discovered alongside the road near a pit-latrine on Wednesday morning, November 5, 2024, with deep cuts and bruises all over the body. He added that the body only had a torn pair of trousers in the legs.

According to Asaf Katende, the Katwe village chairperson, Kiconco was arrested on Thursday, November 6, 2024, after pleading guilty of murder over jealousy.

He added that Kiconco revealed to have murdered the husband when he was leaving home to his new wife at around 10:00pm, a few minutes from work.
