Six Dead, Eight Injured in Awful Collision on Jinja-Iganga Highway

A road accident on the Jinja-Iganga Highway at Kakira involving a motor vehicle collision has left six people dead and eight others critically injured.

The Kiira Region Traffic Officer, Mable Asingwire, confirmed that the accident happened on November 14, 2024, at around 3:00 am, after a Toyota Hiace (registration no. UBP 574J) travelling from Iganga side rammed into the back of a parked sugarcane truck (registration no. UAF 333B).

“The accident resulted in the loss of six lives on the spot, and the injured passengers were taken to the Jinja Regional Referral Hospital for urgent medical attention while the bodies of the deceased were transported to the hospital mortuary,” Asingwire said.
