Singer Beenie Gunter, real name Crescent Baguma, is set to appear before court on Monday, January 29, 2024, following his arrest in Dubai on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

Beenie had been booked for performances in the UAE, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. However, while in Abu Dhabi, Gunter got into a scuffle with event promoters, an incident that attracted the attention of local authorities due to the reportedly vandalized property where the owner is seeking compensation, hence his arrest.

The song writer and Reggae dance-hall artist was released from a prison in Abu Dhabi on Friday, January 26, 2024. He was also banned from leaving the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Gunter was fined 5,000 dirhams by the Abu Dhabi authorities, which is equivalent to UGX5 million, as a condition for his release.

Gunter is known for his songs like Olina Work, No Letting Go, No Offence, Super Woman, Olina Work Byaliwo, Sekkle Down, and No Fear, among others.
