The Uganda national netball team, She Cranes, has risen above uncountable odds in their quest to build a remarkable women’s team legacy in the world of netball.

Known for their enthusiasm, agility, and team spirit, they have consistently elevated their position on the global stage.

This legacy was witnessed by many in New Zealand during their second invitation in the Fast5 Netball Series tournament, which took place from November 9–10, 2024, in which they sealed a hard-fought bronze medal.

Participating in the Fast5 Netball Series, which requires a rapid and high-energy version of netball, the she cranes achieved their best ever performance in this tournament, with their first calling to participate in this tournament being 2022.

The first participation in 2022, where they finished fifth, was filled with challenges as they faced stiff competition from seasoned, strong teams like England, Australia, and New Zealand.

Leaving the tournament with no medal, the She cranes pocketed a valuable experience to learn, which they transformed into a competitive edge in the 2024 Fast5 Netball Series, emerging the 3rd in this year’s tournament with a bronze medal.

With this bronze, the She Cranes have manifested themselves as a rising force in the world of netball through their dedication, resilience, and growth over a short period of time, which is a testament to their potential to achieve even greater milestones in future tournaments.
