John Senfuuma, a 40-year-old teacher at Hillside College Mityana, has been caught trying to have sex with a 15-year-old student, at her guardian’s home.

Senfuuma was nabbed by the girl’s guardian on entering the house, where he expected to find the student.

In a video that has gone viral on social media, Senfuuma is seen begging the guardians of the student for forgiveness, who were very furious with him as they awaited for police to arrive.

“Please forgive me; I did not have intentions of sleeping with your daughter,” Senfuuma pleaded.

Contrary to Senfuuma’s innocence claims, WhatsApp messages discovered by the girl’s guardian reveal that Senfuuma had suggested that he would rather meet the student at her home than hire a room.

“Instead of spending money on hiring a room, why can’t I give it to you because you need money?” the message read.

Police confirmed the incident in a statement made by ASP Luke Owoyesigire, the Deputy Police Spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan, on January 17, 2024.

According to Owoyesigyire, Senfuuma, a resident of Mukono, was arrested following a complaint lodged by the student’s guardian, Sheilah, who is 26 years old and a resident of Kyebando Erisa Zone, Kampala District.

“Sheilah reported that the family became aware of Senfuuma’s communication with the juvenile through WhatsApp, prompting his invitation to their premises,” Owoyesigyire said.

He added that on January 13, 2024, Senfuuma traveled to the designated venue and was subsequently apprehended upon arrival. He noted that an examination by a police surgeon confirmed the well-being of the victim, as the intended activity did not transpire.

The case file was submitted to the office of the Resident State Attorney, pending re-submission for sanctioning, where the suspect will face charges as determined by the Prosecution.
