Rwandan Patrol Arrests Two FARDC Soldiers, Kills One

The Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) have arrested two soldiers under the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC) and killed one after he shot at the RDF border patrol.

This was revealed in a press statement dated January 16, 2024, by the Rwanda Defence Forces. According to the statement, three armed soldiers of the FARDC crossed the border from the DRC into Rwanda at around 1:10 a.m.

According to the statement, the arrested duo, identified as Sgt. Asman Mupenda Termite, aged 30, and Cpl. Anyasaka Nkoi Lucien, aged 28, were arrested by RDF patrols supported by local neighborhood watch (Irondo).

The FARDC soldiers were in possession of one AK-47 rifle, four magazines with 105 rounds, one protective vest, and cannabis sachets.

According to the statement, nobody on the Rwandan side was injured.
