Residents in Rubaga division have called upon more police patrols around the Rubaga Cathedral Church and Centenary Bank branch in Rubaga due to the increased robberies, theft of motor vehicles, and boda bodas that park around the said areas.

According to the locals, these two places have become hot spots for thieves who loiter around while waiting for their victims.

These complaints were made in an interview with journalists on August 28, 2024, after one of the locals was attacked and robbed of his money as he was coming from the bank.

According to the locals, these thugs always target those going to Centenary Bank to withdraw money and also those that park at the Rubaga Church.

They added that the thugs always move in gangs of threes on motorcycles while others are on foot, so when you are attacked, it is hard to fight them all.

’’These thugs not only rob money from us but also steal motor cycles, steal cars, break into them and steal anything found inside, and also unscrew car parts,’’ stated the locals.

In light of these ongoing issues, the community is calling on the police to enhance security measures and conduct more frequent patrols in these areas to safeguard residents and their property.
