The annual Rotary Africa Peace Concert, an event that centres on the promotion of peace and conflict resolution in Africa, is set to make a comeback.

Each year, Rotary International organises the Peace Concert to amplify the voices of peace, harmony, and unity.

This year’s 3rd edition of the Rotary Africa Peace Concert is scheduled to take place on November 3, 2023, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

Rotary has established seven peace centres around the world, including the newest one at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda, which is the first in Africa.

Robert Waggwa Nsibirwa, the former District Governor and Chairperson of the organising committee for the Africa Peace Concert 2023, said Uganda is fortunate to host a Rotary Peace Centre located at Makerere University.

He says the initiative aims to provide comprehensive training in peace and conflict resolution to young leaders and professionals, equipping them with the necessary skills to effectively use their acquired knowledge within their respective communities.

The Rotary Peace Centres provide educational programmes and hands-on training to individuals who are dedicated to advancing peace and addressing conflicts within their localities and globally.
