The National Unity Platform Party President, Robert Kyagulanyi, has asked Ugandans to use all means of civil disobedience to show their dissatisfaction against the government of Uganda.

While speaking to the media at his home in Magere on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, Kyagulanyi thanked all Ugandans, opposition leaders, and supporters for standing in solidarity while demonstrating against bad roads around Kampala Metropolitan and neighboring cities, where banana suckers (stems) were planted in visible potholes to demonstrate against the poor state of roads.

Kyagulanyi asked Ugandans to now stand in solidarity and push for the release of all political prisons and for government to produce all the missing persons.

“Whenever you feel oppressed, you demonstrate peacefully in anyway you can. You have seen some roads have been worked on and if you continue demonstrating they will fix these problems and that’s what we want,” Kyagulanyi said.

“The next demonstrations is for our missing persons and we are going to organize Ugandans to demonstrate in anyway possible to get our people like Olivia Lutaaya, Kalanzi , machete and others back to their people,” Kyagulanyi added.

Kyagulanyi said that the intention of these demonstrations is to put pressure on government, because the work well under pressure.

“We ask all Ugandans to give us ideas on how best we can demonstrate until there is a difference because we know the government can only work under pressure,” Kyagulanyi noted.

During the Non-Aligned Movement summit meeting in Kampala, opposition political leaders were put under house arrest for attempting to incite violence among Ugandans to demonstrate.

Robert Kyagulanyi managed to beat security at his home and was seen in different parts of Kampala with his supporters demonstrating against the state of poor roads in Kampala.
