The titular head of the muslim community, Prince Kasimu Nakibinge Kakungulu has lauded the Minister of Education and First Lady, Janet Kataha Museveni, for her exemplary leadership and effective management of Muslim-founded schools, including those under the Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA).

In a special address to the media on Sunday, March 30, 2025, during a gathering at his residence in Kibuli to mark Eid, Prince Nakibinge described the cooperation as a model of success that has helped transform the education landscape for the Muslim community in Uganda.

“Under the exemplary leadership of First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni, the partnership between the Ministry of Education and Muslim-founded schools has transformed the educational landscape for our community, bringing stability and hope,” Prince Nakibinge said.

He commended the First Lady’s initiative to introduce a continuity policy for UMEA schools, a move he believes has brought much-needed stability and hope to the Muslim community.

The policy ensures that Muslim schools can thrive while maintaining their unique identity and values.

In his remarks, Prince Nakibinge also urged other government institutions to draw lessons from the Ministry of Education’s success.

He pointed out that the Ministry’s efficient management and dedication could serve as a blueprint for other sectors in the country.

“If all government agencies could emulate the Ministry of Education’s efficient management, Uganda would overcome its challenges and experience remarkable national development,” he said.

His words resonated with the gathering, with many expressing optimism about the future of education in Uganda, especially for the Muslim community.
