President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has received Letters of Credence from six newly appointed Ambassadors-designate accredited to the Republic of Uganda, in a formal ceremony held at State House Entebbe.
The credential presentation, held on Friday, 27th February 2026, is a formal diplomatic process that officially authorizes foreign envoys to represent their respective countries in Uganda, marking another significant step in Uganda’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and broaden its global partnerships.
Among those who formally presented their credentials to the President include; H.E. Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Abdulrahman Abdullah Al-Zweidi, Ambassador-designate of State of Qatar, H.E. Mr. Juan Humberto Macìas Pino, Ambassador-designate of Republic of Cuba, H.E. Mr. Seddiki Nafaa, Ambassador-designate of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, H.E. Mr. Gideon Behar, Ambassador-designate of State of Israel, H.E. Mr. Jaime Moreno Bau, Ambassador-designate of Kingdom of Spain and lastly H.E. Mr. Màrio De Azevedo Constantino, Ambassador-designate of Republic of Angola.
During the ceremony, President Museveni welcomed the diplomats to Uganda and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with their respective nations.
He emphasized Uganda’s readiness to expand cooperation in strategic areas including trade, investment, technology transfer, education, industrial value addition, and regional stability.
The President noted that Uganda remains open to partnerships that advance economic transformation and deliver shared prosperity for both Ugandans and citizens of partner countries.
He highlighted the importance of mutually beneficial cooperation, particularly in sectors that promote value addition and reduce dependency on raw exports, a key pillar of Uganda’s economic strategy.
“Uganda remains committed to strengthening partnerships with friendly nations to drive shared prosperity, sustainable development, and regional stability through constructive diplomacy,” the President Museveni stated.
He assured the ambassadors of Uganda’s full support in executing their diplomatic duties and wished them successful and productive tenures in the country.
The presentation of Letters of Credence officially empowers the ambassadors to begin their diplomatic duties, highlighting Uganda’s active global engagement and its strategic drive to forge international partnerships that fuel economic growth and regional stability.
