Police in Luweero District have retrieved the remains of a dead body and a human skeleton from the shrine of a witch doctor, Mutyaba Samuel, following an operation on July 31, 2025.
The discovery was made around 4:40 PM in Kiryanyonza village, Nakikoota Parish, after a tip-off from the district witch doctor chairperson, Mutyaba Herbert Muwanga.
The police team found the remains from the shrine, where they were buried, and quickly transported them to Luweero Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Muwanga, who is also a witch doctor and a resident of a nearby village in Nakikoota Parish, expressed his shock at the discovery urging young men and women seeking the services of traditional doctors to be cautious and avoid such fraudulent practitioners for the sake of their safety.
“Mutyaba has brought a generational curse upon his family because of his involvement with these dead bodies,” Muwanga said.
Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
However, investigations are underway to determine the cause of death and the reasons for the remains being found at the shrine.
