Police is investigating an incident of robbery which occurred at the Ministry of Lands zonal offices in Bukasa village, Wobulenzi Sub County in Luwero district on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

According to social media reports, unknown thieves broke into the offices at around midnight and stole items which include several files, a printer, and a computer.

It’s alleged that the thieves entered the offices after tying the security guards with ropes.

Reports indicate that the robbers failed to access land titles because the server room in which they are kept was secured.

In a video, one of the clients at the ministry said that when he came to the offices, he was denied access by the security guard because the offices were closed and surrounded by Police officers.

“I came to Bukalasa Land offices to do a search how normal business hours be but the askari denied me access saying that the offices are closed because there was a problem. We have no idea what’s going on because all we see are policemen all over and no one is allowed to go inside. I asked if the bosses were around especially the registrar because I wanted to talk to him but they told me to come some other time which was not even specified” a client said.

Denis Obo, the Spokesperson for the ministry of lands confirmed the incident saying that an official statement will be released later.
